The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved an ordinance to revamp the Central Council of Homeopathy as several of its office-bearers have been facing allegations of corruption.
A bill to this effect may come in Monsoon session of Parliament.
Briefing reporters about the decision of the cabinet, Law and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said the government wanted to have a proper, professional homeopathic ecosystem for education in the country.
He said the quality of education was suffering in the absence of a proper body, as the chairman of the council has been in CBI and other nets.
Prasad did not elaborate further on the ordinance as it was yet to receive the President's assent.
