J&K Khadi & Village Ind Board creates over 26,000 job options

"KVIB has generated 26,386 employment opportunities during the current fiscal till August-end," Secretary KVIB S Ravinder Singh told the 97th meeting of the board of directors chaired by Industries and Commerce Minister S S Slathia here.

Singh said the Board has sponsored about 5,000 cases under the Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) following clearance by the District Level Task Force Committees (DLTPC) to different banks for sanction of credit up to end of August this year.

"Against this 3,124 cases stand cleared by these banks and accordingly 2,775 cases have been forwarded to the Nodal Banks for release of margin money," he said.

He said Rs 2.85 crores have been released by the KVIC to different Nodal Banks with direction to clear the pending cases forthwith.

Underscoring the need for putting in coordinated efforts to properly implement different schemes launched for the welfare of people, the minister urged the officers to ensure proper funding before finalising viable projects to avoid their collapse in midway.

"Honest officers will be encouraged and non performing shown door," Singh added.
Slathia said adding the government was serious to improve work culture and ensure achieving set target in time.
