Union minister for women and child development and animal rights activist Maneka Gandhi has taken strong exception to the killing of tigress T1, popularly known as Avni.
Gandhi, a senior minister in the Narendra Modi-government is expected to speak to Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on this issue.
She also lashed out at finance, planning and forest minister Sudhir Mungantiwar for not listening to requests of stakeholders not to kill the tigress.
"It is nothing but a straight case of crime," she tweeted.
