Jagan has 31 cases pending, Naidu one

Opposition leader in Andhra Pradesh and YSR Congress chief Jagan Mohan Reddy has mentioned in an affidavit filed along with his nomination that he has 31 cases registered against him.

Out of the cases, 11 are those of the CBI, 7 Enforcement Directorate and 13 cases in different police stations and lower courts.

In comparison, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has just one case which is related with the protests near Bhabali dam in Maharashtra.

A Dharmabad court has summoned Chandrababu to appear before it in the matter.

While the CBI has charged Jagan on various counts including criminal breach of trust and forgery, the ED has charged him with laundering money.

Jagan has been charged with over 20 different types of offences listed in the Indian Penal Code.

In Pulivendula alone he was booked under 16 different sections of the IPC and other criminal acts that include rioting armed with deadly weapons, mischief committed after preparation made for causing death or hurt, negligent conduct with respect to explosive substances, assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharging of his duty, wrongful restraint and confinement, criminal intimidation and mischief causing damage to public property.

Jagan has declared that he has assets worth Rs 317 crore in the 47 page affidavit.

His wife Bharati has Rs 124 crore and their two daughters have assets worth Rs 6.5 crore and Rs 4.6 crore.

On the other hand, Chandrababu has said that he has assets worth Rs 20.44 crore and a debt of Rs 5 crore.

His son N Lokesh, who is contesting from Mangalagiri, declared that he has assets worth Rs 253 crore.

Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan, who hasn't mentioned his caste and religion in his affidavit, has declared that he had assets worth Rs 40.81 crore.

So far, the richest is the state municipal administration minister P Narayana, who has assets worth Rs 668 crore, and the modest one is former Joint Director of CBI P V Lakshminarayana, who has mentioned his assets' worth to be Rs 8.60 crore.

Janasahanthi Party Chief and evangelist Dr K A Paul, who is contesting from Narasapuram as a Lokasbha candidate, left almost all the affidavit empty while submitting his nomination.

He was given time until March 25 to file the details.
