Soundarya ties the knot with Vishagan

Filmmaker Soundarya Rajinikanth got married to actor and businessman Vishagan Vanangamudi on Monday morning at a star-studded ceremony attended by film stars, industrialists and politicians of Tamil Nadu.

The wedding was solemnised between 9 am and 10.30 am at a luxurious hotel in Chennai overlooking the sea followed by a reception. Soundarya, youngest daughter of Tamil superstar Rajinikanth, was draped in a saree while the groom was clad in traditional veshti for the wedding and they changed their attire for the reception that followed.

Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, Opposition Leader M K Stalin, legendary actor Kamal Haasan, ace director Mani Ratnam, K S Ravikumar, Congress leader Su Thirunavukarasar and Rajinikanth’s son-in-law and actor Dhanush were some of the VIPs who were present at the wedding.

The festivities began on Friday with Rajinikanth hosting a pre-wedding reception which was strictly a family affair. While the pre-wedding reception was held at the Sri Raghavendra Kalyana Mandapam, the sangeet and other pre-wedding ceremonies were held at the actor’s residence in upscale Poes Garden.

Pictures shared on social media by cinema publicists and fans also showed Soundarya and Vishagan holding the former’s son from her first marriage – Ved.

This is Vishagan and Soundarya’s second marriage as she was earlier married to industrialist Ashwin Ramkumar, he was married to Kanikha Kumaran. Soundarya and Ashwin divorced in 2017 and they have a son – Ved.
