In a shocking incident, a Mumbai based person who had posted derogatory remarks against Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray was allegedly beaten up by Shiv Sainiks.

The victim, Hiramani Tiwari (30), who is a social media platform goes by the name 'Rahul Tiwari' is now demanding action against the Shiv Sainiks.

Tiwari is a resident of Wadala and a few days ago made a derogatory remark against Thackeray for the latter's comments on the Jamia Milia Islamia incident.

"The way police opened fire and forcefully entered Jamia Milia Islamia compound, it appeared like Jallianwala Bagh Massacre," Thackeray had said, to which Tiwari had tagged the derogatory remarks against the Shiv Sena chief.

Thackeray's comments were vis-a-vis protests against CAA-NRC.

On Sunday, a group of Shiv Sena local leaders led by Samadhan Jukdeo and Prakash Hasbe beat him and shaved off his hairs outside his residence in Shantinagar.

The Wadala TT police station has issued a notice under section 149 of CrPC.

Talking to reporters, Tiwari said: "I wrote a post...I started receiving threats...I thought it was not proper and even deleted it."

Tiwari said that he was a supporter of VHP and BJP and takes up issues of national interest. "I was there dragged out of my house and beaten up..even police was there a distance away," he said, adding that he sustained injuries in his ears. "I may have committed wrong but who has given the right to them to beat me...the law should take its own course."
