Seva Bharati relief materials to flood victims

Relief materials collected by Seva Bharati, in Mangaluru.

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), through Seva Bharathi, has supplied relief material worth Rs 1 crore to flood victims of Kerala.

Six containers, carrying rice, milk, oil and medicine, have been transported so far. The relief materials are being collected at Sangha Nikethana in Prathap Nagar, Mangaluru. On Tuesday morning, the sixth container was transported to Kerala.

The day-to-day items transported include three containers of boiled rice, 3,000 litres of milk, 200 box biscuits, 500 boxes containing two liters of water bottles each, 50 boxes of medicines, 2,000 sarees, 1,500 shirts, five boxes of children’s clothes, two boxes of soaps, two boxes of candles and matchsticks and three boxes of toothbrushes and toothpaste. Also, there are pickaxes, buckets, mugs, boxes of sanitary boxes, phenol, disinfectants and coconut oil, among the relief materials.

The items have been handed over to Seva Bharati team in Kerala. The materials will be distributed after sorting, Keshava Smrithi Samvardhana Samiti Secretary Raghuvir Kamath said.

People and RSS volunteers from Puttur, Sullia, Belthangady, various parts of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and also from Kalasa, have been handing over the relief materials to Sangha Nikethana. Around 2,000 sarees and 1,500 shirts from Kalasa have reached the Seva Bharathi.

Lorries belonging to Canara Springs company, owned by Premnath Kudva, have provided free service towards the transportation of the relief materials.

Keshava Smrithi Samvardhana Trustees Shrinivas Prabhu RSS Pranth Saha Karyavaha Prakash P S and Seva Bharati volunteer Ramaraya Kamath were present.
