Comprehensive tourism policy needed in Maharashtra

Last Updated 06 February 2021, 21:07 IST

Though Maharashtra faces the problem of illegal resorts and homestays, the degree is much lesser compared to other states.

“The Vidarbha region and the Central Indian landscape has tiger corridors. There is also private land and agricultural land within it,” says Kishor Rithe, member, Maharashtra State Board for Wildlife.

“Resorts and lodges have come up in such places,” he says.

In December last year, an illegal jungle safari was busted at the Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve.

Wildlife experts feel that the government need to come out with a comprehensive policy in this regard.
