OnePlus Watch, OnePlus 9 series with Hasselblad camera make global debut

After months of speculation, OnePlus on March 23 pulled the wraps off the new generation premium OnePlus 9 series phones along with the OnePlus Watch.

As advertised, the OnePlus 9 comes in three variants-- the OnePlus 9 Pro, the OnePlus 9 and the OnePlus 9R.

OnePlus 9 Pro and 9 have almost the same design language and certain hardware features but differ in terms of display size, primary camera, and battery capacity.

OnePlus 9 Pro sports a 6.7-inch QHD+ 2K AMOLED LTPO curved Fluid Display 2.0 with a 120Hz refresh rate, peak brightness up to 1,300nits, supports HDR+, and comes with the in-screen fingerprint sensor.

Under-the-hood, it comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 octa-core processor, Android 11-based OxygenOS, 8GB/12GB RAM, 128GB/256GB storage and a 4,500mAh battery with Warp fast charging capability.

As far as the photography hardware is concerned, it boasts Hasselblad-tuned quad-camera system. It boasts 48MP main + 50 MP ultra-wide + 8MP + 2MP on the back. On the front, it features a 16MP front snapper,

The standard OnePlus 9 features a 6.55-inch full HD+ AMOLED LTPO flat screen with 120Hz display refresh rate, in-screen fingerprint sensor and supports HDR+.

Inside, Hasselblad-tuned quad-camera system module- 48MP main + 50MP ultra-wide + 8MP on the back, 16MP front snapper, Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 octa-core processor, 8GB RAM, and a 4,500mAh battery with Warp fast charging tech.

The third model OnePlus 9R is an exclusive variant for the price-conscious Indian market. It comes with a 6.55-inch full HD+ AMOLED display with the 120Hz screen refresh rate, support HDR10+. It also features stereo speakers and an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Inside, it comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 CPU, 8GB RAM, quad-camera module-- 48MP + 16MP + 5MP + 2MP on the back, a 16MP front snapper and a 5,000mAh battery.

All three OnePlus 9 models support 65W wired fast charging. This means the devices will be able to fully charge up from zero to 100% in around 30 minutes. Also, the company said, they will also support 50W wireless charging. With this, the devices can fully charge up in under 45 minutes.

OnePlus 9 Pro will be offered in two configuration-- 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage-- for Rs 64,999 and Rs 69,999, respectively. It will come in three colours-- stellar black, morning mist, and pine green. It is slated to go on sale on April 1.

Even OnePlus 9 will be offered in two configuration-- 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage-- for Rs 49,999 and Rs 54,999, respectively. It will come in three colours-- winter mist, astral black, and artic sky. It is slated to be released on April 15.

On the other hand, OnePlus 9R will be offered in two configuration-- 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage-- for Rs 39,999 and Rs 43,999, respectively. It will come in two colours-- carbon black, and lake blue. The company is yet to announce the availability details.

OnePlus is also offer OnePlus Warp Charger 50 wireless charger for Rs 5,990. In India, all will be available on Amazon and OnePlus India stores.

The new OnePlus Watch is confirmed to flaunt classical circular dial design language with premium metal enclosure. There is also a special Cobal Alloy edition as well.

It is said to feature a bright 1.39-inch AMOLED 2.5D curved display with up to 326 ppi (pixels per inch) and come with the IP68 and 5ATM rating, meaning the wearable can sustain underwater pressure close to 1.5 metres (around five feet) for up to 30 minutes. Also, the screen is protected by Sapphire Glass on top.

It runs Real-Time Operating System with 1GB RAM, 4GB storage, and it allows users to control OnePlus connected devices including smart TVs. Also, Users can view notifications and calls. The new OnePlus Watch comes with a Blood Oxygen (SpO2) monitor, heart rate sensor, and track 110 workouts, which offer breathing exercises and come with stress level monitor.

It promises to offer two weeks of battery life and under extreme usage, it can last for a full week. It costs MRP Rs 16,999. However, the company is offering a special discount on the smart wearable and this reduces the price to Rs 14,999 for a limited time. It will be available for purchase in April in India.
