AAP candidate to file papers today

The candidate of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for Mysore-Kodagu Lok Sabha constituency Padmamma M V will file her nomination papers today.

Speaking to press persons, here, on Tuesday, she said, she would strive for the protection of women, and take up several issues affecting the constituency, if elected.

She said, she would establish a single window relief centre for women in distress and for women who have undergone abuse, in order to provide assistance for victims, in both Mysore and Kodagu districts.

Speaking about the waste management programmes, she said, improving collection and disposal of solid and liquid waste will be taken up on priority. A citizens’ committee will be formed to ensure participation of the people, in implementation of various projects under the Mysore City Corporation.

This will evoke feedback, so that projects under Jawaharlal Nehru Urban Renewal Mission (JnNURM) can be implemented effectively, she said.

AAP has already launched its campaign in various parts of the city. It will raise issues on corruption, electoral, judicial and police reforms, and promoting transparency and accountability in governance, she said.

She said, AAP would collect donations from voters during the door to door campaign for campaign expenses, she added.
