Last Updated 29 July 2017, 17:29 IST

The members of the Republic Party of India (RPI), on Saturday, urged Deputy Commissioner Rohini Sinduri to organise a meeting to hear the grievances of Scheduled Castes people in the district.

The party district president Satish said, when V Anbu Kumar was serving as DC, he used to convene similar meetings to discuss about the problems faced by the people of the SC communities.

“But after he was transfered, the previous DC also did not organise any meeting, despite several request and protests. The cases of atrocities against the Dalits are rampant in the district. So, the DC should convene meeting regularly,” he said.

Even the officials are misusing the funds provided for Dalits and are also harassing them, he alleged.

Nittur Mariswamy, Gangur, and Gurumurthy Daddihalli were present.
