The residents demanded solving of drinking water crisis and alleged that though memorandum had been given to CMC many a times it had not paid any heed to their demands.
Irrespective of the age all the residents sat on the road at around 10 am in the morning and raised slogans against CMC officials.
Former CMC member Riyaz Pasha who led the dharna said that the residents of both the layouts had give many memorandums to CMC to draw their attention to the problem faced by the layouts.
However, till today the CMC officials have not taken any step, he added.
There is no one to listen to our problems as the layouts are situated on the outskirts of the City, he added.
Pasha said that the CMC President had behaved in a reckless manner by not responding to the needs of the aggrieved people.
