Farm of Bagalkot boy's father restored

The work to make the field belonging to Hanumappa Hatti, the father of Thimmanna, ready for agriculture again concluded on Saturday.

Thimmanna had died after falling into an open borewell in the field at Sulikeri in Badami taluk recently.

Silt from tank

The huge trench, which was dug up in the field for rescue operations, has been filled with soil. It was topped with silt from the Muchakhandi tank near Bagalkot.

District incharge Minister S R Patil said that the criminal case registered against Hanumappa had been withdrawn.

An amount of Rs five lakh would soon be deposited into the bank account of the family as compensation, he said.
