Congress leader B Z Zameer Ahmed Khan on Monday charged that JD(S) state president H D Kumaraswamy was hiring people for his campaigns.
"People are attending the JD(S) campaigns not because of love, affection and support for the party, but they are being paid to attend," he said.
He was campaigning for Congress candidate H C Balakrishna at Magadi.
Kumaraswamy campaigned after my campaigning at Channapatna. The JD(S) distributed Rs 22 lakh for Kumaraswamy's campaigning, but only about 22,000 people had gathered, he said.
"Even if I don't pay, my party workers are behind me," he said.
