<p>Kodagu Maaraka Yojane Virodhi Vedike will organise a rally ‘Save Kodagu from four-lane road’, from Gandhi Maidan on December 8, said forum convener Colonel C P Muttanna.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Addressing reporters here on Monday, he said that the people of Kodagu have not recovered from the shock of flash floods and landslides.</p>.<p class="bodytext">In this situation, the government has been planning to implement projects such as Kushalnagar-Madikeri four laning and two railway line projects, he added.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The rally, which is meant to raise a voice against such projects will be flagged-off at Gandhi Maidan on December 8. People of Kodagu should take part in the rally in large numbers to urge the government to drop the projects, said Col Muttanna.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Forum president Rajiv Bopaiah said that the four-laning project and the new railway projects have nothing to do with the development of the district as the people are not going to be benefited.</p>.<p class="bodytext">In fact, there are more risks by implementing the projects. The valuable biodiversity will be lost with the implementation of these works, he said.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Kaveri Sene president Ravi Changappa said legal fights are also being carried out against the projects and a PIL had been filed in the high court last year.</p>
