7 fishermen rescued

All the seven fishermen of a fishing boat Sri Saisiddi were rescued when the boat capsized near Malvan in Maharashtra. The fishing boat with seven fishermen from Uttara Kannada had left for deep sea fishing on April 16.

The boat begun sinking after the keel hit a rock under the sea. Fishing boats sailing in the vicinity rescued all the fishermen, Fisheries department Deputy Director Parshwanath said. The rescued fishermen were identified as Nagaraj, Ramu, Sadashiva, Pandu, Honnappa, Ganapathi and Manju.
