A team of election officials seized unaccounted for cash of Rs 2 crore during the vehicle inspection at a checkpost near Amatekoppa village in taluk on Thursday.
The Pragathi Krishna Gramina bank manager was carrying the cash in a vehicle without proper documents. Besides, the poll officials learnt that the manager was not permitted to carry Rs 2 crore in a private vehicle. Hence, four persons of Hosanagar have been taken into custody.
Sagar Assistant Commissioner Darshan visited the spot and handed over the cash to Income tax Department. The investigation is on.
