Apple to release iOS 18.4 with Apple Intelligence features in India this April

Since the iOS/iPadOS 18 launch in September 2024, Apple has released three major updates in phases with several generative Artificial Intelligence (gen AI)-based Apple Intelligence features such as Clean Up, smart writing tools, audio transcriptions, image playground, Genmoji, smart Siri digital assistant and more. However, AI features didn't support Indian English and other international languages.

Now, the Cupertino-based company has announced that the next major iOS/iPadOS update will bring support for French, German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese (simplified), localised English for Singapore and Indian regions.

Apple has rolled out the iOS/iPadPOS 18.4 beta to all registered and public app developers to try out the new feature first-hand. And, if there are any bugs, they can be reported back to the company.

The final version of iOS 18.4 is expected to be rolled out in April worldwide.

Apple also noted that Apple Intelligence features which are currently limited to iPhones, iPads and Mac devices, will be made available to Vision Pro devices with visionOS 2.4 soon.

The new update will also bring Spatial Gallery, a new standalone app for Vision Pro. It houses a specially curated collection of spatial photos, spatial videos, and panoramas from artists, filmmakers, photographers, and more.

The visionOS 2.4 also includes support for Priority Messages in Mail, Mail Summaries, Image Wand in Notes, Priority Notifications in the Notification Center, and Notification Summaries.

Also, Apple is bringing the new Apple Vision Pro app for iPhones. The app will appear for Vision Pro users when they update their iPhone to iOS 18.4, and it can also be downloaded from the App Store.

The app will feature a Discover page that offers curated recommendations for new and noteworthy experiences available on Apple Vision Pro. Users can quickly see popular apps and games on the App Store; nearly 300 3D movies, Apple Immersive titles, and more video content on the Apple TV app; and the latest spatial photos, and spatial videos.
