'Can't trust India in any way, Islamabad should stay fully alert': Pakistan's defence minister Khawaja Asif

Khawaja Asif's remarks reportedly came after Indian Army chief General Upendra Dwivedi said that Operation Sindoor was an '88-hour trailer'.

Pakistan's defence minister Khawaja Asif has said that Islamabad needs to be "fully alert" as "India can go for all out war". Khawaja said that "India cannot be ignored" and the "preparation and alert are at maximum," he told Samaa TV, as per media reports.

"We cannot ignore (India) in any way... We are not ignoring India, and our preparation and alert are at maximum. We cannot trust India in any way," the publication quoted him as saying. He further added, "We cannot rule out (attack) as India can directly intervene. It can go for an all-out war as per its strategy."

As per a report by Hindustan Times, Khawaja's remarks came after his claims that "Islamabad is fighting a two front war with India."

Khawaja further told Samaa TV that "Islamabad should stay fully alert" as "India can launch attacks," adding that "India does not want Pakistan and Afghanistan to resolve their issues."

These remarks reportedly came after Indian Army chief General Upendra Dwivedi said that Operation Sindoor was an "88-hour trailer" and "the movie has not even started yet".

"Operation Sindoor was just a trailer which ended in 88 hours. We are prepared for any circumstances in future. If Pakistan gives a chance, we will teach it how to behave responsibly with a neighbouring nation," he said at an event, as reported by ANI.

"In today's time, battles are multi-domain. We cannot say how long it will last. We have to ensure we have supplies to last long," he added.
