Virginia woman who kept lottery ticket tucked away inside the Bible wins $1million

Lady luck shone on one Jacqueline Mangus from Virginia who won a lottery worth $1 million.

The woman had bought the lottery ticket at the Lake Mart & Deli in Virginia's Moneta, which she placed safely in her copy of the Bible, according to a report by NDTV.

Coincidently when Jacqueline was watching television, she saw that a ticket bought in Moneta had won a lottery worth $1 million in Virginia's New Year's Millionaire Raffle.

Curious to check her luck, the woman looked for her ticket only to find that she's the winner of the lottery.

According to the publication's report, a surprised Jacqueline said that she was 'tickled to death' after finding that she had won the lottery money.

This is not the first instance of someone winning such a big amount of money in a lottery, a similar incident took place when one James Clarkson in the UK found out that he had won $78,33,155 (£7,533,329) on January 5.

According to a report by The Metro, James who is a 20-year-old trainee gas engineer and hails from England's Carlisle, had received a notification on his mobile phone from the National Lottery informing him of winning the lottery.

James said, "I was at my girlfriend’s house and got up early to check on the snowfall when I saw a message saying I’d won on the National Lottery app. I just didn’t believe it, I thought I was dreaming."

He had nervously dialed up National Lottery phone number to confirm his big win and was left surprised after it was then confirmed that he had indeed hit the jackpot.

He told the publication, "They eventually confirmed mine was the winning ticket. I think I just started laughing. I thought, 'this is mad'."

"I spent the rest of the day visiting my family and girlfriend who all live close by, all of us talking about the win," James added.
