Lok Sabha mourns Ambareesh

The Lok Sabha on Thursday mourned the demise of Karnataka's "Rebel Star" Ambareesh.

Speaker Sumitra Mahajan led the House to pay homage to the departed soul of Ambareesh, who, apart from being a celebrity filmstar, was also a former member of the Lok Sabha and a former Union Minister.

As soon as the Lok Sabha assembled, the Speaker read out the "obituary reference" on Ambareesh's death on November 24 last.

Before the Question Hour proceeding commenced, the Speaker and the MPs stood in silence for a few minutes to pay tribute to the actor-cum-politician, who represented Mandya constituency of Karnataka in the Lok Sabha from 1998 to 2009.
