President Droupadi Murmu presented Shaurya Chakra to Major Amit Dahiya, 1st Battalion, The Parachute Regiment (Special Forces) on May 10. He displayed exceptional leadership, courage, and tactical acumen while leading a team and eliminating terrorists during an operation in Pulwama, J&K.
Major Amit Dahiya was leading a search and destroy operation team, tasked to eliminate foreign terrorists in Pulwama based on the intelligence provided by GOC, Counter Insurgency Force and corroborated by different intelligence agencies.
