<p class="title">Nearly 20,000 people are expected to participate in the Janagraha convention, to be held in the town on December 2.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The convention is being organised by Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s (VHP) Udupi district unit to mount pressure on Central government to build Ram Mandir in Ayodhya,</p>.<p class="bodytext">VHP Udupi unit president Santhosh Suvarna Bolje said the convention was being organised in car parking area, near Sri Krishna Mutt. Prior to the stage event, a procession will be carried out by the members of self help groups and bhajan troupes from Jodu Katte area to car parking area at 3 pm on December 2, he added.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Raghavulu, Joint Secretary, VHP will deliver the keynote address on the occasion. The pontiffs of different mutts will be present on the occasion, he added.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Bolje said that meetings (Baithaks) were held in all the 35 wards of Udupi CMC in order to motivate people to participate in the event in large numbers. A bill should be tabled in the upcoming winter session of Parliament to facilitate construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. The office-bearers of the district unit of VHP will submit a letter to the Udupi-Chikmagalur MP Shobha Karandlaje to support the bill for the construction of Ram Mandir.</p>
