Xiaomi bets big on premium after-sales services to build strong customer loyalty

Compared to half a decade ago, the smartphone purchase cycle has evolved not just in India but also worldwide.

Previously, customers used to upgrade every year, but now, they are stretching two or three years.

We can see results of shipments plateauing, and year-over-year growth has been in single digits for the last several quarters.

In the first half of 2025, the Indian smartphone market registered more than 70 million unit shipments, one per cent up compared to the previous year same period, reported International Data Corporation (IDC).

By improving the customer experience at the service centres and offering the chance to explore the new phones and the allied ecosystem of Xiaomi products.

The interaction at the repair service experience and understanding how the new devices work, can play a crucial role in a customer's decision-making process when considering an upgrade to their old handset or tablet.
