Girl falls sick after teacher forces her to do sit-ups in Puttur

A student of sixth standard at Government Higher Primary School in Kavu Madnur fell sick after she was reportedly forced to do sit-ups as a punishment by a teacher.

The parents have submitted a complaint to Puttur Block Education Officer (BEO). The girl was admitted to Puttur Government Hospital, sources said. The in charge headmaster had allegedly made her do sit -ups for having indulged in some mischief in the class. Her parents have also submitted a complaint to Child Rights Commission and Puttur MLA.

Sita Dahal, wife of Nepal's Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', died on Wednesday after suffering from a rare neurological condition. She was 69.

Sita, who had been ill for a long time, was undergoing treatment at Norvic International Hospital in Kathmandu, where the doctors confirmed her death at 8.33 am, according to Prime Minister's press coordinator Surya Kiran Sharma.

Sita, who was also an adviser to the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Centre), was suffering from Progressive Supranuclear Palsy along with Parkinsonism, Diabetes Mellitus-II and Hypertension for a long time.
