The suspense over Mandya seat, which has become a bone of contention in the BJP-JD(S) alliance is likely to be over on Monday with the latter set to name H D Kumaraswamy as its candidate.

JNUSU gets its first Dalit president from Left after nearly three decades

The United Left panel on Sunday effected a clean sweep in the JNUSU election, defeating its nearest rival, the RSS-affiliated ABVP.

In the polls that happened after a hiatus of four years, Dhananjay from the All India Students' Association (AISA) won the JNUSU president's post by securing 2,598 votes against the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad's (ABVP) Umesh C Ajmeera, who secured 1,676 votes.

Arvind Kejriwal won't resign as Delhi CM, AAP decides as it launches 'Main Bhi Kejriwal' campaign after ED arrest

This was the party's first major meeting after Kejriwal's arrest. It was presided over by Aam Aadmi Party national general secretary (organisation) Dr Sandeep Pathak.

It was decided at the meeting that Kejriwal will not resign from the CM’s post and Delhi's ministers, MLAs and the party will continue to take his orders from jail, the party said in a statement.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday said the slogans 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' and 'Jai Hind' were first raised by two Muslims and asked whether the Sangh Parivar would be ready to abandon them.  "Some Sangh Parivar leaders who came here have asked those who sat in front of them to chant the slogan 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai'. Who coined the slogan? I don't know whether the Sangh Parivar knows that his name is Azimullah Khan," the CM said. (PTI)

Congress' Supriya Shrinate defends herself on Kangana row

"Someone who had access to my meta accounts ( FB and Insta) posted an absolutely disgusting and objectionable post, which has been taken down. Anyone who knows me will know I would never say that for a woman. However a parody account that I have just discovered misusing my name is being run on Twitter ( @Supriyaparody ) which started the whole mischief, and is being reported," Supriya Shrinate posted on X after a post (now deleted) on her Instagram was made targeting Kangana Ranaut with derogatory remarks. Kangana has been given BJP ticket to fight from Mandi Lok Sabha seat in Himachal Pradesh.

Students & youths raising 'Modi, Modi' slogans should be slapped: Karnataka Minister

Youths and students who raise "Modi, Modi" slogans should be slapped, Karnataka Minister Shivaraj Tangadagi has said, as he attacked the BJP-led government at the Centre, accusing it of not honouring the promise to create two crore jobs per year. 

"They should be ashamed, with what face are they coming to seek votes. They are incompetent to do even a single development work. They had promised to give two crore jobs. Did they give jobs to anyone? When asked for jobs they say -- sell 'pakoras'. They should be ashamed. If any students or youths still say 'Modi, Modi' (slogans), they should be slapped. One has to be ashamed. Is it a small thing? They promised two crore jobs a year, it should have been 20 crore jobs now in 10 years," he said. (PTI)

PM Modi's credibility to help NDA win all 40 LS seats in Bihar: Giriraj Singh

"I am not sure about my credibility. But the credibility of our PM is unparalleled and it is because of him, the NDA will win all 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar, including Begusarai," Union minister Giriraj Singh told PTI.

The NCW will be writing to the Election Commission against Congress leader Supriya Shrinate for her comments against actress Kangana Ranaut, who is the BJP candidate from the Mandi Lok Sabha seat.

Shrinate's Instagram post containing objectionable remarks about Ranaut has been removed from her Instagram handle.

NCW chief Rekha Sharma said the women rights body will be reaching out to the Election Commission fin this regard. (PTI)
