Search engine giant Google on Wednesday (March 19) unveiled the company's new premium mid-range phone Pixel 9a series.
The new Google phone sports a 6.3-inch full HD+ (1080x2424p) Actua pOLED display. It supports 120Hz refresh rate and 2,700 peak brightness. It comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor and also the screen is protected by Corning's Gorilla Glass 3 shield and IP68 dust and water-resistant rating.
Pixel 9a flaunts flaunt flat satin metallic rail around the display with curved corned. It houses a dual-camera module and has no protrusion like we see in premium Pixel 9 (review), and 9 Pro models.
Under the hood, the device houses Google's propreitary Tensor G4 processor, which will power all generative Artificial Intelligence (gen AI)-based features such as Gemini AI assistant, live language translations, audio transcriptions, circle to search and several photography tools such as object eraser, best take, Magic Editor, Magic Audio Eraser and more.

The new Pixel 9a also comes with Titan M2 security chipset and runs Android 15 OS out-of-the-box. It is guaranteed to get seven years of OS updates and security software patches up to 2032.
The Pixel 9a sports a dual-camera module 48MP+13MP with an LED flash on the back. And, on the front, it features a 13MP sensor for selfies and video calling.
The device comes with a 5,100mAh battery with 23W charging speed. Pixel 9a comes in two configurations-- 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage-- with prices starting at Rs 49,999.
It is offered is three colours -- purple (iris), black (obsidian), and white (porcelain). Google Pixel 9a is slated to hit stores in India in April.
