<p>Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday met Ramandeep Kaur who was attacked and injured by a traffic policeman seeking a bribe, and lauded her efforts to fight corruption, reports DHNS.<br /><br />“Delhi needs citizens like you. I alone can’t change the system. We all need to work together to change the corrupt practices prevailing,” he said. “We are proud of you,” Kejriwal told Kaur and her husband who met him in his office a day after she fought a corrupt traffic policeman and refused to give him bribe.Delhi traffic police head constable Satish Chandra was sacked late on Monday after he flung a brick at Kaur for refusing to pay a Rs 200 bribe. <br /><br />The 30-year-old was riding a scooter along with her three daughters just before the incident in New Delhi area. “We are strongly with you and will do whatever we can,” Kejriwal assured Kaur who has been left with a broken bone in her hand after the shocking and violent attack by the man in uniform. Kaur complained to Kejriwal that neither did she get a copy of the FIR registered by her nor proper medical treatment at the hospital.<br /><br />Kejriwal assured her that a copy of the FIR would be arranged for her soon.He told Health Minister Satyendra Jain to ensure that she gets proper medical treatment.<br /><br />Kaur showed exemplary courage and grappled with the policeman and prevented him from escaping after the attack. <br /><br />The incident of police brutality, that was captured on camera by a passer-by, triggered outrage. Judicial custodyA court here on Tuesday remanded to 14 days in judicial custody a sacked head constable of Delhi Police, who had allegedly hit a woman with a brick here after she refused to give him bribe, reports PTI. </p>.<p>Special Judge Narottam Kaushal declined the plea of Delhi Police seeking one-day custody of ex-traffic policeman Satish Chandra who was produced in the court after his arrest. The Delhi High Court also took suo moto cognisance of the incident on Tuesday.The matter is listed to be heard on Wednesday by a bench headed by Chief Justice G Rohini, which took cognisance of the incident from media reports.<br /><br />After the incident on Monday, Chandra was initially suspended and later on dismissed from service with immediate effect as the incident triggered widespread outrage. Public Prosecutor Rita Sharma sought one-day police custody of Chandra on the ground that they wanted to know about his previous conduct and also about his properties. </p>.<p>Advocate Rajiv Mohan, appearing for Chandra, opposed the plea saying the traffic policeman has the power to impose a fine and it’s not an offence. The court, however, rejected police’s plea and sent the accused to judicial custody till May 26. Meanwhile, the defence counsel filed Chandra’s bail application and the court fixed it for hearing on May 16.</p>
