The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has installed seven independent training simulators (models) at its training institute in Shastri Park that would help in imparting special training to its maintenance staff regarding the technical details of the trains’ functioning and improve their efficiency.

The simulators would help in better maintenance of different sub-systems of a train such as the brakes, air supply, door system, auxiliary system, traction system, train air-conditioning and train control management system (TCMS).

“The independent simulators enable imparting training to staff in a close-to-real situation in controlled environment about how doors automatically close and open, emergency control brakes and train air-conditioning, among others. It enhances their troubleshooting skills and operation of the train in case of faults,” said H S Anand, director of rolling stock, DMRC.

Presently, there are two simulators in the Shastri Park Training Institute.
