<p>A teenaged moneylender was shot at after being waylaid by two men known to him over personal enmity in west Delhi’s Ranhola, police said on Wednesday.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Vijay Mishra, 17, who lives at Nangli Sakrawati village in south-west Delhi’s Najafgarh, is undergoing treatment at Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital. He is a class 12 student of Holy Convent School in Uttam Nagar.<br /><br />Police said Vijay, who lends money at high rates of interests, went for collection at Vikas Nagar in Uttam Nagar when the attack took place around 9 pm on Tuesday. “Vijay has identified the attackers as Natan Tyagi and Sandeep Tyagi, both residents of Vikas Nagar,” a police official said.<br /><br />In his statement to police, Vijay said he and his friend Rahul Sharma had personal enmity with Natan and was involved in a scuffle with him on Sunday. Natan had allegedly threatened Vijay of dire consequences if he continued his friendship with Rahul.<br /><br />“It is alleged that Natan and Sandeep waylaid Vijay when he was at Vikas Nagar on Tuesday. They were travelling on a motorcycle. Sandeep was driving the vehicle, while Natan was riding pillion,” the official added.<br /><br />Natan came to Vijay and told him that despite his warnings, Vijay was continuing his friendship with Rahul. Vijay claimed that Natan threatened to kill him and took out a country-made pistol.<br />“Natan allegedly aimed at Vijay’s chest, but the bullet hit his right hand as he tried to evade it at the last moment,” the official said. <br /><br />The accused sped on the motorcycle, while Vijay made a call to the police control room. He was rushed to hospital.<br /><br />A case of attempt to murder has been lodged over Vijay’s statement with Ranhola police station. The accused also face charges under the Arms Act.</p>
