<p>Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) chief Ajit Singh suffered a setback, when his party general secretary and former MP Anuradha Chaudhary joined the Samajwadi Party (SP) on Sunday.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Chaudhary announced her decision to quit the RLD at a press conference here. She was flanked by SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav and senior party leader Azam Khan. “Ajit Singh has deviated from the principles of Chaudhary Charan Singh. He has compromised with ideals for ministerial berth,’’ she said.<br /><br />Chaudhary claimed that the rank and file of the RLD was deeply upset with the party’s alliance with the Congress and the RLD would have to pay for it in the Assembly polls. <br /><br />She said the RLD agreed to give even those seats to the Congress, where the party had a stronghold, indicating a sort of surrender. She denied that she had quit the RLD as she was not given a ministerial berth.</p>
