<p class="title">The Telangana Finance Minister Etela Rajender on Thursday presented the budget for the financial year 2018-19.</p>.<p class="title">Out of Rs 1, 74,453.84 crore budget, Rs 33,369.10 crore will be spent on capital infrastructure creating permanent assets. The rest amount of Rs 1, 25,454.70 crores is set aside for revenue expenditure.</p>.<p class="title">Presenting the fifth consecutive budget, Etela said that allocations are made keeping in mind aspirations of people. Etela said that the overall GSDP which was at Rs 6,41,985 crore in 2016-17, is estimated to increase to Rs 7,32,657 crore registering a 14.1% growth.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Giving highest priority, Rs 25,000 crore has been allocated to irrigation sector. The minister also hoped that the lifeline project of Kaleswaram will be completed within two years with enhanced allocations. "Over 36.75 lakh acres will get irrigation after completion of the project," he said.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The budget has set aside Rs 12, 000 cr for Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao's pet project of investment support scheme for farmers. Each farmer in the state will receive Rs 8,000 per acre as investment support. Rythu Bheema programme gets Rs 500 crore and Rs 522 crore for farm mechanization.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Other allocations: Rs 1,801 crore for Mission Bhagiratha, Rs 5,650 crore for the power sector, Rs 2,000 crore for Minorities welfare, Rs 2,643 crore for two-bedroom housing project Rs 7,375 crore for medical and health sector, Rs 10,830 crore for education sector, Rs 1,500 crore for strengthening of rural local bodies, Rs 1,450 crore towards Kalyana Lakshmi, Shaadi Mubarak schemes.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, praising the state budget said that it would spur all-round development of the state."The Budget is prepared to strike a balance among resources of the state, its needs aims and objectives," he added.</p>
