<p>Online job portal Babajob, which has about seven million job seekers and 4.50 lakh employers on its platform, will soon launch a chatbot. <br /><br /></p>.<p>“It will happen very soon and we are also planning to launch a better app for job seekers as well as employers, and focus deeply on improving the job recommendation function, which is to identify which applicant is suitable for which job, all led by technology,” COO and co-founder of Babajob Vir Kashyap said.<br /><br /> Only recently it came up with its own platform, www.nextbillion.in, where a map shows an overlay of salary data linked to pin-codes, defined category wise. Being linked to a specific location within a city, it allows a user to observe variances within one job category across multiple locations. <br /><br />“Through this platform, employers can gauge the right salary to pay their staff based on their geo-location as well as job category, while job seekers are armed with the knowledge of what pay to expect and can choose where to seek better opportunities,” Kashyap said.<br /><br />When asked about its automated response service, he said job seekers have to give a missed call for the system to call back. <br /><br />“The system then asks them a bunch of generic questions and creates a profile for them. So, anybody with a mobile phone can now have a profile created with Babajob. The IVR (interactive voice response) is multilingual with six languages, and we will be rolling out lot more languages in the future,” he said.<br /><br /> Last year, Babajob secured a $10 million minority investment from SEEK and its affiliate companies. SEEK is the largest online employment provider.<br /><br />Blue-collar jobs<br /><br />Kashyap said that the blue-collar job search space is waiting to explode and the corporates are increasingly looking at online platforms for scale and speed.<br /><br />“Our team is passionate about recruitment for entry level/blue collar employees, but we have also seen a visible growth in the number of players functioning in this ecosystem. We see huge potential in this space as the number of jobs, job seekers, average salaries, and the number of people getting hired each second is on a constant rise,” he said.<br /><br /></p>
