<p>Bengaluru: Truck rentals, which had returned to normal levels in October post the festive season, saw a decline in November for most routes as demand for transportation services softened, according to Shriram's monthly mobility report released on Wednesday.</p><p>Fleet occupancy levels dropped by around 60 per cent month-on-month (MoM) in November 2024. This decline is largely attributed to poor urban demand across categories, the BS4 truck ban in the NCR region because of air pollution issues and a resultant increase in logistics costs to transport goods in smaller trucks, polling activities in Maharashtra, and reduced agricultural produce movement.</p><p>Car sales dropped by 36 per cent MoM, which can be attributed to the withdrawal of festive schemes by car manufacturers, while bus sales dropped by 32 per cent.</p> .Car sales rebound in festive October, but with exceptions.<p>The sales of EVs, (two, three and four wheelers), continued declining, except for the month of festive October. While the sales of EV cars dropped by 38 per cent MoM, the sales of two-wheeler EVs dropped by 19 per cent MoM.</p><p>On the growth side, the two-wheeler segment grew 27 per cent MoM while the agricultural tractor segment at 29 per cent MoM on the back of a good monsoon and expectations of a good rabi harvest.</p><p>Diesel consumption showed a 7 per cent MoM increase while petrol consumption rose by 0.3 per cent in November.</p><p>FASTag transactions saw a 4 per cent on a MoM basis increase, indicating rising traffic volumes.</p>
