<p>Ahmedabad: The Gujarat High Court on Thursday issued notice to Adani Ahmedabad International Airport on a petition moved by Celebi Ground Handling India Private Limited, seeking interim relief against termination of its license for ground handling services. </p><p>The licence of the firm was revoked on the ground of "national security" in the aftermath of "Operation Sindoor" for its links with Turkey which supported Pakistan.</p><p>A vacation bench of justice Devan M Desai after hearing the matter briefly issued notice to the respondent Ahmedabad airport. The matter will be taken up on June 10. </p><p>The company approached the high court after a commercial court rejected its application for interim relief on June 2.</p><p>Following "Operation Sindoor", the security clearance of the firm was withdrawn by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), New Delhi, on May 15 with immediate effect. Based on this, Adani Airport terminated the licence agreement. </p><p>The reason behind the move is said to be the company's Turkish links. During the escalation between India and Pakistan, Turkey supported the latter which turned into a huge controversy. </p><p>The company has filed similar petitions in Delhi and Mumbai. In Ahmedabad, it sought interim relief from the commercial court in view of fresh tendering, the last date for which was June 3, for hiring agencies which are likely to replace Celebi ground handling at the airport. Celebri's lawyer told the court, as mentioned in the order, the company invested Rs11.5 crore for various infrastructure. It has 186 employees on its payroll. </p><p>The company told the court that agreement was terminated "immediately without giving the time for cure period."</p><p>"The applicant would have explained to the opponent (Adani airport) its decision to terminate the security clearance was guided by speculative news in the public domain or by any misconceived understanding of the opponent vis the identity of the applicant," the company argued in the court. </p><p>The lawyer representing Adani airport opposed the application saying that the applicant couldn't claim any relief in view of revocation of security clearance by the central government. </p><p>"Hence, as per License Agreement, it was pre-requisite condition that such security clearance is subject to order of the Government and as per clause 13.2, in case of consequence of a Government order, airport operator i.e. the opponent shall have right to terminate this agreement forthwith by written notice.," said lawyer representing Adani airport. </p>
