Tata Technologies, RVCE to set up advanced training centre

Bengaluru: Tata Technologies and RV College of Engineering (RVCE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Monday to establish the Centre for Invention, Innovation, Incubation and Training at the RVCE campus in Bengaluru.

Touted as the first such initiative in southern India, the collaboration aims to redefine industry-academia engagement by equipping students with skills in smart manufacturing and Industry 4.0 technologies.

Tata Technologies has committed around Rs 50 crore to the project, while the Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust (RSST), which manages RVCE, will contribute around Rs 10 crore to develop the state-of-the-art centre.

“This centre represents a transformative ecosystem that bridges academia and industry,” said KN Subramanya, Principal of RVCE. “It will offer engineering students hands-on exposure to Industry 4.0 technologies, provide vocational training to school dropouts and rural youth, support startups with incubation and mentorship, and extend technological assistance to MSMEs. It will also serve as a talent hub for large industries.”

Sushil Kumar and Pawan Bhageria, representatives from Tata Technologies, underscored the importance of co-creating talent pathways with academia. “The centre will integrate industry-aligned certifications and training modules into the curriculum, ensuring RVCE graduates are both theoretically proficient and practically equipped for future technological challenges,” they said.

RSST President MP Shyam, Honorary Secretary AVS Murthy, and Joint Secretary DP Nagaraj were also present at the event.
