Sensex declines 148.68 points; Nifty drops 67.55 points in early trade

Sensex on Monday declined 148.68 points to 81,609.05; Nifty dropped 67.55 points to 24,900.85 in early trade.

Benchmark Sensex tanked 501 points while Nifty closed below the 25,000 mark on Friday due to selling in banking shares after muted quarterly earnings and foreign fund outflows.
