<p>The operator has also recorded 0.7 per cent of call drop rate, 98.3 per cent of calls with good voice quality and 100 per cent resolution of billing and charging, a sign that operators would continue to care for providing good quality of voice services despite declining arpu rates and anticipation of 3G deployment. <br /><br />Vodafone Essar South Limited Chief Executive Officer K Sankara Narayanan said declining arpu should not dissuade companies from maintaining good quality of voice services, since large number of people come to depend on it during emergencies and natural disasters such as recent floods in North Karnataka. <br /><br />“In the floods during September 29, 30 and October 1, we made sure that there were adequate power facility through battery back up, diesel and other fuel systems ready to keep connectivity infrastructure up and running. We had also ensured that all our base stations are connected through multiple connectivity media such as micro wave, fibre channels etc, to ensure smooth traffic flow,” he added. Vodafone has 6230 base stations across the state, 2000 of which function in Bangalore. It has 4.3 million customers in Karnataka.</p>
