As elections inch closer, the BJP’s campaign has reached a crescendo with its chief Amit Shah holding roadshows in some key constituencies in Bengaluru on Wednesday.
Traffic came to a standstill at key junctions as Shah’s roadshow had to squeeze through small roads in Sarvagnanagar, Shivajinagar, Shanthinagar and Mahadevapura Assembly constituencies. Scores of supporters beat the afternoon heat and came out in support of the BJP president.
An enthusiastic crowd cheered Shah as he reached the city after campaigning in Tumakuru until noon. The crowd chanted slogans in support of the BJP and Modi as people looked from their homes on either side of the road. BJP leaders called on voters to make B S Yeddyurappa the next chief minister for a “clean Karnataka”.
In Sarvagnanagar, Shah campaigned for M N Reddy who is taking on Bengaluru Development Minister K J George. In Shivajinagar, Katta Subramanya Naidu, who has tried to stay away from the media glare throughout the campaign, was seen next to Shah.
