Cabbie with 100 SIM cards held for FB post on Ashoka

A 28-year-old cab driver was arrested on Saturday for a "derogatory" Facebook post about senior BJP leader R Ashoka.

Hemanth Kumar Gowda S, a native of Channapatna taluk, Ramanagaram district, and a resident of Andrahalli Main Road, was picked up by the cybercrime police following a complaint by a man named Kodanda on September 17, 2018.

The arrest led to the seizure of more than 100 SIM cards, five mobile phones, debit cards, cab documents and Aadhaar card. Police said all the SIM cards were active. Gowda had bought them in different names and police have asked telecom service providers for the call detail record of each SIM card.
