CfB to conduct mock poll on Sat

In an attempt to increase the voter turnout during the May 12 Assembly elections, the members of Citizens of Bengaluru (CfB) will conduct a mock poll on Friday at Town Hall.

The mock poll — Nanna Mata Namma Hita (my vote, our welfare) — is an attempt to inspire more people to come out and vote.

Srinivas Alavilli, a member of CfB, said: “The mock poll will have absolutely nothing to do with the political parties and candidates. The idea is to send a message that Bengaluru is ready to vote and we take our responsibility seriously.”

“We also want to send a strong message to all the parties that voters are interested in the real issues like sustainable development, and not in petty politics and divisive agendas,” Alavilli added.

The organisation had also recently submitted its own manifesto to all the political parties in the city.

The members from various organisations, including I, Change My City, Citizen Action Forum, CIVIC, Bengaluru Apartment Federation (BAF) and Whitefield Rising, will also participate in the event.
