<p>In an attempt to increase the voter turnout during the May 12 Assembly elections, the members of Citizens of Bengaluru (CfB) will conduct a mock poll on Friday at Town Hall.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The mock poll — Nanna Mata Namma Hita (my vote, our welfare) — is an attempt to inspire more people to come out and vote.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Srinivas Alavilli, a member of CfB, said: “The mock poll will have absolutely nothing to do with the political parties and candidates. The idea is to send a message that Bengaluru is ready to vote and we take our responsibility seriously.”</p>.<p class="bodytext">“We also want to send a strong message to all the parties that voters are interested in the real issues like sustainable development, and not in petty politics and divisive agendas,” Alavilli added.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The organisation had also recently submitted its own manifesto to all the political parties in the city.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The members from various organisations, including I, Change My City, Citizen Action Forum, CIVIC, Bengaluru Apartment Federation (BAF) and Whitefield Rising, will also participate in the event.</p>
