<p class="rtejustify">Come Sunday, Bengalureans will celebrate the Annual Daughter's Day with the theme of #Shakti4Beti, in memory of the late Indian-American astronaut Kalpana Chawla.</p>.<p class="rtejustify">It is hosted by the Public Relations Council of India (PRCI) (The Bengaluru chapter) in collaboration with the Young Communicators Club (YCC).</p>.<p class="rtejustify">The event will witness felicitation of women achievers like— Akkai Padmashali, a social activist; Wanita Ashok, a fitness expert; Supriya Lohit, a playback singer; Archana, a lady police constable; Shilpa Shree, a senior corporate professional and Lakshmi Pillai, marketing head at a private firm.</p>.<p class="rtejustify">There will also be a scholarship award for the students of the Cauvery Kanya Gurukulam, Mandya District.</p>.<p class="rtejustify">"Our theme for this year is #Shakti4Beti wherein we are trying to highlight the importance of empowering our daughters, who play a critical role in taking care of our family and society," said Latha T S, Chairperson of PRCI, Bengaluru.</p>.<p class="rtejustify">"Empowering the girl child will bring a positive change in the society," said M B Jayaram, the chief mentor of PRCI.</p>.<p class="rtejustify">Swabhimaan, a national campaign by PRCI and YCC for promoting self-esteem will also be launched during the event.</p>
