Deaf and dumb boy rescued from rail station

Last Updated 08 November 2018, 18:53 IST

A hearing and speech impaired boy was rescued in a semi-conscious state from the KSR Bengaluru railway station on November 4.

Volunteers of Bosco Mane, a nonprofit, found the 15-year-old boy and admitted him to St Martha's Hospital as he is suffering from a skin allergy. He is responding to treatment but is unable to communicate.

The NGO is looking for a sign language expert to communicate with the boy. It has also asked the railway police and the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) for help to trace the boy's family, said Robina Farooq, a volunteer. "We have also informed NGOs in neighbouring states and shared his photograph to help us trace his family," she added.
