Fest to regale music lovers till February 29

Good news for lovers of classical music as musical organisations in the City are together hosting ‘Bengaluru Vasanthotsava.’

Well-known artistes, including flautist Hariprasad Chaurasia, Carnatic vocalist Bombay Jayashri, from across the country are expected to take part in the concerts, which will be organised at the various locations in the City, upto February 29.

According to Aravind Bramha, founder of Rajani Fine Arts, an effort was made to bring all the musical organisations under one umbrella so that the dance and music lovers will have an opporunity to enjoy classical dances and also, both Hindustani and Karnatak music. The organisations are planning to conduct the event every year in January. The organisers claim that for the first time such an event is be held under one umbrella.

The organisations have printed a booklet which contains information about the various venues where the concerts will be held, names of the concerts and the artistes who will be performing, among other details, which will be freely distributed among the public.

The concerts will be held in the evening at various places, including Malleswaram, JP Nagar, HAL 2nd Stage, Jayanagar, Marathahalli, ISRO Layout, Rajajinagar. Only a few concerts will have an entry fee. The Department of Kannada and Culture and the Ministry of Culture have released funds for each concert to encourage classical music.
