Get 5% bonus for recharging UTS App wallet

Passengers, who book railway tickets through the UTS App, will get an instant cash bonus of 5% of the recharge value, whose ceiling has been raised from Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000, the South Western Railway said on Wednesday.

Through the Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS) App, a passenger can book a maximum of four tickets from a station which is within five km from their position.

Passengers can also buy/renew season tickets, platform tickets and cancel booked tickets. They can deposit money in the Railway Wallet to pay for the fare.

E Vijaya, SWR Chief Public Relations Officer, said the app was gaining popularity among travellers every day with 52,100 registered users since its launch and has an average of 1,500 daily users.

More than 1.5 lakh tickets have been booked through the app from February 18 and the railways has collected Rs 12 lakh in revenue, Vijaya added.

An official in the Bengaluru Division of SWR said the app was gaining about 200 new users every day within the city.

“It is an ideal app for those who take suburban trains. Passengers can avoid waiting in queues and board the train directly once they book the ticket,” he said.

Passengers, who travel within the SWR limits, need not carry the printed version of the ticket. When prompted for validation, they can show the digital ticket on their mobile.
