Guinness record for longest sanitary pad line at AICOG

A sanitary pads installation to create awareness about women’s health made it to the Guinness World Records on Wednesday.

The longest line of sanitary pads with the figure of the uterus in the middle was lined up for the same.

About 10,105 sanitary pads measuring about 1,078 meters were lined up for the record as part of the All India Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology (AICOG – 2019). 15,000-odd doctors participated in the event. The pads were later given away to four schools to be distributed among girl pupils.

As part of the five-day conference, a stall to create awareness about women’s choice in conception, Parivartan, was also inaugurated.

An initiative by PSI India and Asian Research and Training Institute for Skill Transfers, Parivartan is a platform to create awareness about the use of contraceptives.

The initiative will soon have community mobilisers visiting different parts of the state and talking to women about the use of contraceptives.
