Two unidentified miscreants barged into a house and robbed cash of Rs 12 lakh after tying up a home-alone woman in HAL III stage in Indiranagar on Wednesday night.

The victim, Nalini, was tied up and gagged when her husband, B Gopal, had gone to his farmhouse in Anekal along with his gunman.

According to a senior police officer, the duo entered the duplex house by breaking the terrace door and punched Nalini. They tied her hands and legs with a cloth and robbed Rs 12 lakh and fled.

Gopal is the owner of a petrol bunk in Anekal and had kept at home the money collected in the bunk.

Nalini managed to unite herself and raised alarm. Neighbours rushed to the spot and alerted her husband. Gopal and Nalini filed a complaint on Thursday with the Indiranagar police. According to Nalini the duo was wearing masks and was speaking in Hindi.

The police suspect that the miscreants were aware of Gopal’s business and had carefully watched him movements before breaking into the house.

The police are collecting CCTV footage of the house to identify the accused.
