The Whitefield division police raided a freshers’ party at a bar in Brookfield on Saturday and found at least 40 minors drunk. The police arrested three persons including the bar owner.

The arrested have been identified as Sunil Shetty, the owner, Ravi, the manager of the bar and Ajay, the organiser of the party. The trio has been booked under IPC section 290 — Punishment for public nuisance in cases not otherwise provided for.

According to the police, around 10 to 15 college students teamed up and organised a freshers’ party with the help of Ajay at the bar and restaurant situated on the fourth floor of a commercial complex in Brookfield near HAL. The team had invited around 300 students from various engineering and management courses across the city, said the police.

The organisers had also arranged for wristbands of a certain colour that minors had to wear as an indication that they should not be served alcohol. But as soon as the party began, all the students, including girls, started drinking and created a ruckus inside the bar.

Meanwhile, residents noticed an unusual number of college students near the bar and informed the police about the nuisance. The HAL police rushed to the spot and raided the party and booked the trio for creating a nuisance and let the students go after a stern warning.
