A 57-year-old African national was arrested for possession of Ecstasy pills, weighing 4.25 gm, by the Bengaluru team of the Narcotics Control Bureau on Thursday.

The arrested has been identified as Oskar alias Osita Chinaka, a native of Nigeria. Oskar was travelling from Mumbai towards Bengaluru in a semi-sleeper bus when he was nabbed and the contraband seized.

According to officials, the accused had concealed the pills in a transparent polythene pouch and kept it in a bag. He was off-loaded from the bus at Yeshwantpur and was arrested for conscious possession and trafficking of  drugs.

The accused had come to India in 2006 on a business visa and has been overstaying since. It is suspected that he is involved in trafficking of drugs in both Mumbai and Bengaluru.
