Rajajinagar RTO to be shut from Dec 20 to 29

Planning to visit the Rajajinagar RTO anytime soon? Brace for a major inconvenience as the office will be closed from December 20 to 29.

People, who have already submitted applications for various services such as the registration of vehicles, change of address, transfer of vehicles, fitness certificate, renewal of registration, no objection certificate, re-registration of vehicle number, duplicate registration and permit-related services, should get them delivered by December 19.

In a press release, the Regional Transport Office (RTO) said the Rajajinagar office would have to be upgraded to the Vahan-4, the new e-governance software developed by the Union government under the National Transport Project.

“Applications that come after December 19 will be rejected. People who have already paid the fee, tax and other payments should get the work done by December 22. The new software will not accept older applications and this office will not be responsible (for denial of service),” the release added.

Online tax payment

Vahan 4, the cloud-based application, will connect RTOs across the country to a central grid and maintain updated data on vehicles. Payment of taxes and fees will go online. Officials can also track the complete history of a vehicle registered anywhere in the country.
